From Assistant to Coordinator: Technical professional’s construction qualification leads to promotion

We are delighted to announce that we have promoted its Technical Assistant, Natasha McIntyre, to Technical Coordinator after she successfully completed her Higher National Certificate (HNC) qualification in construction.

Natasha, aged 28, works at our head office in Rugby, Warwickshire, and started at the company in 2019 as a Senior Administrator. In early 2021 she joined the Technical department as a Technical Assistant, where she assisted the rest of the team with their projects and learnt on the job.

After six months in the role, Natasha started studying for her HNC in Construction and the Built Environment at Moulton College, Northamptonshire, and after successfully completing her course was promoted to Technical Coordinator last month (June).

As Technical Coordinator, Natasha is responsible for coordinating architectural, engineering and planning elements of each project, and liaising with other Mulberry Homes departments, external consultants, local authorities, housing associations, solicitors and regulatory bodies to ensure sites meet all the business and legal requirements.

Natasha said: “I enjoy the responsibility of being a key part of the project team. I feel like my position has a genuine impact on the success of the project, and the variety makes every day different.

“I am very impressed with the way that Mulberry Homes nurtures its staff to allow growth and promotion from within, and I’d like to progress my career within the Technical department as I gain more experience. My goal is to move to Senior Technical Coordinator and then Technical Manager, and perhaps even Head of Technical one day.”

Chris Russell, Construction Director at Mulberry Homes, said: “We are thrilled to have promoted Natasha to Technical Coordinator. This is an important milestone in her up skilling and career development, and she has proven herself to be a dedicated member of the team.

“This promotion reflects the hard work Natasha continues to undertake, and we are looking forward to see how she progresses in the future.”

Prior to starting at Mulberry Homes, Natasha graduated from the University of Southampton with a degree in Philosophy and began her career in conveyancing, before moving into property development.

Outside of work, Natasha is an avid netball player and enjoys spending time with her dog.
