Mulberry Homes helps fund Bedford homelessness charity

We have donated £1,000 to King’s Arms Project, a Bedford charity working to tackle homelessness.

We donated to the charity as part of its Quintessentially Community Focused programme, which allows us to give back to charities in the communities we operate in. King’s Arms Project is based near our upcoming development, The Grange at Roxton.

King’s Arms Project was started over 30 years ago, as a response to seeing people sleeping rough on the streets of Bedford. They provide professional advice, innovative solutions and person-centred care to those at risk of homelessness and social isolation.

The £1,000 donation will allow the charity to alleviate some of the financial pressures of their recent move into their new town centre location, a move which has allowed them to help the people of Bedford in a much more accessible way and allowed for an easier access point to their services for many in need. Moving into the town centre has involved upgrading the building they are now in so that it is fit for purpose; the costs of that upgrade are still ongoing.

Kirstie Cook, CEO at King’s Arms Project, said: “In a season of such disruption across the public sector and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, it is the support of organisations such as Mulberry Homes which enable us to continue to support our clients who are especially vulnerable to financial pressures and a lack of access to support services. We are very grateful for their trust and investment in King’s Arms Project.”

Kerry Jones, Sales and Marketing Director at Mulberry Homes, said: “We are very happy to be able to support King’s Arms Project, and in turn assist those in the Bedford community. We hope that our £1,000 contribution is a huge help, and wish King’s Arms Project all the best for the future.

“Supporting the people who live in the communities we build in is very important to us at Mulberry Homes, and building these connections is a key part of our ethos.”

As part of our charity scheme, Quintessentially Community Focused, charities and public organisations local to our developments are invited to apply to receive a one-off donation of £1 to £1,000, which can be used to help enhance the local community or environment, or provide a charitable service.
