We hosted an American-themed showhome launch event at our new Mulberry Homes at Houlton development in Rugby, Warwickshire last weekend.

The event took place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 1st July and allowed a number of property seekers to speak to the sales team and take a tour of the newly opened showhomes. Houlton was the site of Rugby Radio Station in the 1920s, and was the site of the first ever transatlantic phone call. On Friday 7th January 1927, Sir Evelyn Murray, the Secretary of the General Post Office, spoke to Mr. Walter S Gifford, President of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company, across thousands of miles of ocean. The call was made to Houlton, Maine, USA, the namesake of the Urban&Civic consortium site that Mulberry Homes at Houlton is proudly a part of.
Attendees were able to enjoy wartime era swing singing courtesy of the upbeat trio The Lahdidah’s, along with a selection of delicious bespoke burgers from Bow & Bow.
