We have donated over £10,000 to local charities across the country
Last year, we were donating to charities across the country as part of our monthly community fund, called The Mulberry Community Chest.
Through The Mulberry Community Chest, charities and public organisations local to our developments were invited to apply to receive a one-off donation. Each month, a judging panel selected a beneficiary to secure the requested funding.
Since the beginning of 2022, we have has donated to 13 charities across Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire.
A selection of ecological charities have received donations through the scheme, including Animals in Need in Northamptonshire, the Bedfordshire Swift Group, Herrings Green Activity Farm and Bird of Prey Centre and Silsoe VC Lower School’s eco council, both in Bedfordshire. The money has gone towards buying supplies for wild animals in need, and providing ecological education to children.
Children’s charities across the country have also benefitted greatly, with Sport4Fitness in Northamptonshire, The Friends of John Wycliffe Primary School PTA in Leicestershire, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity in Warwickshire, and KidsOut and Beavers Swimming Club in Bedfordshire each receiving donations. This has ensured that children and young people are provided with fun experiences that they otherwise wouldn’t have had access to, and that seriously ill children are provided with the care and support necessary to get the most out of life.
Finally, the Elizabeth Curtis Centre, For Men to Talk, and Noah Enterprise in Bedfordshire, and Bicester Widows and Widowers in Oxfordshire received a donation, helping local communities in a variety of ways. This included helping widows and widowers fund their summer holiday to Bournemouth, providing support for the homeless in Luton, contributing towards the mental wellbeing of men, and maintaining a house riding centre for the disabled.

“These organisations across the country are doing phenomenal work for a number of incredibly worthwhile causes, and we feel honoured that we’re able to contribute.
“Taking the opportunity to get an overview of everything that we’ve accomplished and all the people that we’ve helped over the year has been an excellent moment for realising why we run something like The Mulberry Community Chest and redouble our community focused efforts next year.
“We’re looking forward to donating to a whole host of other charities in 2023, as everyone here at Mulberry Homes continues to be community focused and function for the benefit of communities local to our developments.”
For 2023, our charity scheme has been brought into our Quintessential Living brand evolution and ethos, and renamed as Quintessentially Community Focused. The scheme will continue the charity work started by The Mulberry Community Chest in benefitting the communities we build in.
