Mulberry Homes is furthering its support of the Greensand Country Landscape Partnership by funding drone footage of the incredible landscape.
Greensand Country is a beautiful and well-loved landscape defined by the Greensand Ridge, a 42-mile-long band of higher ground stretching from Leighton Buzzard to Gamlingay, which rises out of the surrounding vales to create a locally unique environment. The area is home to all of Bedfordshire’s remaining heathland, more than half of its woodland and more historic parklands than anywhere else in Britain.
Mulberry Homes’ funding of drone footage comes as part of a £7,500 donation, which is helping raise awareness of Greensand Country.
The drone footage has formed a video that explores Greensand Country, going from the historic sites within Leighton Buzzard, through historic parkland, ancient woodland, wetland and heathland that surrounds the Greensand Ridge, to the historic village and nature reserves in Gamlingay.

Drone images will also be included in a digital leaflet that aims to make the landscape of Greensand Country more accessible to new visitors.
Overall, the drone and handheld cameras have captured video and images of the Leighton Buzzard Market Cross, Leighton Buzzard All Saints Church, Gamlingay parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Gamlingay Eco-Hub, the Emplins sixteenth century Hall House, Millbridge Brook Meadows, Rushmere Country Park, Flitwick Moor and Folly Wood, The Alameda and Great Park in Ampthill, Cooper’s Hill, St Mary’s Old Church in Clophill, Warden Abbey Vineyard, Moggerhanger Park and Portobello Farm in Sutton.
Extra footage was kindly supplied by Wrest Park, Bedford Estates, Shuttleworth House and the Swiss Garden, and RSPB The Lodge in Sandy. All footage was then combined, with a voiceover and music, to create a film that explores and celebrates different aspects of the Greensand Country landscape.
The footage has been taken by aerial imaging specialists Sky Revolutions, who are the first drone company to go fully carbon neutral. They achieved carbon neutral status in 2021 by using solar-panelled equipment, and are aiming to become carbon negative by 2024.
