New homes, investment and community woodland coming soon to Oxfordshire village

Mulberry Homes has recently acquired land off Blackthorn Road in Ambrosden. The site, which extends to circa 22 acres, will provide for up to 75 new homes, local and regional investment and a new woodland.

The site benefits from an outline planning permission for 75 one, two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, including 27 affordable homes that will be available via Affordable Rent, Shared Ownership and the Government-backed First Homes scheme. As part of Mulberry Homes’ commitment to sustainability, the homes will be installed with air source heat pumps and EV charging points.

Alongside these new homes, the developer will be delivering a new community woodland, which will connect to existing public rights of way to the north of the site. Circa £1.5 million will be injected into the local community as part of its S106 contributions, helping to fund the area’s healthcare, education, transport and sports services.

A reserved matters planning application has been submitted to Cherwell District Council.

This will be Mulberry Homes’ third development in Oxfordshire, following the success of schemes in Bicester and Launton, both of which are less than five miles from the site.
