At Mulberry Homes, we know how difficult it can be to keep children entertained throughout the weekend, so we have put together a handy guide that will help you keep your youngsters busy over the autumn.
Priory Country Park, Bedfordshire
Bedfordshire has a variety of green open spaces that are ideal for families to explore and enjoy. Priory Country Park is under four miles from our Ravensden Park development and has 360 acres of the meandering Great River Ouse and a variety of habitats including meadows and reed beds. There are a range of walks and cycle paths for families of different ages and abilities. The park also has a Green Flag award which recognises the park’s quality and commitment to maintaining green open space.
Markshall Estate, Essex
Nearby to our Kelvedon Rise development, Markshall Estate set in over 2,000 acres of Essex countryside offers a variety of family fun and children’s activities, including taking a walk through the different continents with the Estate’s vast tree collection taking you from North America through to Asia. There are also three different walks that vary in difficulty that take you through the grounds with the chance to see the original hall, sites from the Second World War and the opportunity to spot a fallow deer, meaning Markshall Estate can cater to the whole family.
Irchester Country Park
Irchester Country Park is conveniently located just over a mile from our Steeple View Chase development. The park offers families a variety of activities to enjoy, including cycle routes and the Ironstone Heritage trail that will lead to the Megalosaurus skeleton that can be found by would-be archaeologists. The skeleton comes after a young boy and his grandfather found a fossilised footprint from the dinosaur - your family could find the next one!
With these suggestions, we are confident that your children will stay entertained and enjoy getting out and learning about nature and the local area.
