COLOUR OF THE YEAR

Every year Pantone selects a colour of the year which influences us in our designs throughout the year. For 2025, the colour of the year is PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee. A very popular colour which can be paired perfectly with wooden textures, ochres, natural greens and plants with warm lighting and gold accents, giving your home a desire for comfort.

COLOUR DRENCHING

Throughout 2024, we noticed a huge influence in colour drenching which is continuing into 2025. An idea of using varied shades of the same colour in one room to create a cohesive and impactful look. This is perfect for people who want to make a statement and like playful interiors in their home. This is easily achieved by painting all walls, ceiling, architraves, and woodwork in the same colour and pairing this with using tones of the same colour in furniture and textiles.

TEXTURED WALLS AND CEILINGS

Plain walls are a thing of the past. In 2025, expect to see an explosion of texture in interior spaces. Wallpapered ceilings, wood panelling, and decorative plaster finishes will add depth and interest to your rooms. You can easily achieve this in your own home by wallpapering all walls, panelling walls and even adding wallpaper or plastered texture to the ceiling, each will make an impact on your space, or why not try all 3?

INTERIOR STYLING TIPS

It can become very overwhelming when it comes to styling your own house, there’s so many ideas out there but its hard to know what is best for your home and style. Our top tips are:

  1. Play with scale and height

Rather than having everything on one level add variety to your space by adding height and thickness. Use shelves to add depth to your space, experiment by using tall with short, big with small, thick with thin. Utilizing a variety of heights creates movement to draw your eye around the space. As well as this, odd number groupings, are more modern and interesting to the eye than even number groupings.

  1. Incorporate mirrors

Mirrors make a huge difference to your space. Incorporating a mirror into a space can make it appear bigger and more impressive. We love to incorporate a mirror in a space to provide a reflective element, a mirror draws your eye in and around the room instantly.

  1. ARTWORK!

You can make a space yours by just the artwork. Incorporating your artwork further personalizes the space and enhances the overall look with an added layer of dimension, it’s a good opportunity to train your eye and introduce yourself to new artists and makers.

  1. Keep it simple

Iconic fashion designer Coco Chanel once said, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.” The same rules apply to styling surfaces, especially hall tables, where less is more. To style a hall table, keep it simple, stacking books, adding a short bowl or candle, something tall like a picture frame or art, and a fresh flower arrangement. A simple yet impactful styling arrangement.

  1. Combine textures and layering

Layering different textures and patterns can make a huge difference to your space. When styling, for example a lounge, layering patterned cushions, draped textured throws and sheepskins over sofas and chairs instantly makes a space feel cosy and inviting. This same concept applies to every room in your home, layered textiles, vases, ornaments, and greenery will take your space from being a boring, plain, uninviting area to a homely, welcoming space.

  1. Use scent

A scent is one of the first things that you experience when walking into a room. Whether it be from a diffuser, candle, plug in scent or even a room spray. This scent is one that stays with people when they visit your home. Choose a welcoming scent that invites people in but not too overpowering that gets too much for you living in the house. Scent can transform the feeling of your space and change the mood and vibe as well as having quite a dynamic effect on our emotional state.
