This International Women’s Day (8th March), luxury homebuilder Mulberry Homes is highlighting one of its female employees, who has risen through the ranks from Senior Administrator to Technical Coordinator since joining the company in 2019.
Natasha, aged 29, works at Mulberry Homes’ head office in Rugby, Warwickshire, and started life at Mulberry Homes as a Senior Administrator, before she joined the Technical department as a Technical Assistant in early 2021.
As Technical Coordinator, Natasha is responsible for coordinating architectural, engineering and planning elements of each project, and liaising with other Mulberry Homes departments, external consultants, local authorities, housing associations, solicitors and regulatory bodies to ensure sites meet all the business and legal requirements.
For International Women’s Day, Mulberry Homes interviewed Natasha about her career progression, and her thoughts on how Mulberry Homes has helped her career within the construction industry.
Natasha said: “It is very important for homebuilders to encourage women to join the construction industry. Strong, intelligent and capable women can, and do, thrive in this sector.
“Young girls in school should be made aware of the variety of career paths that can be found within the industry, and how they can strive towards them. Women may be intimidated by the fact that the industry is typically male-dominated and may not be aware of the different career paths available.
“Mulberry Homes has always been a company that allows voices to be heard, regardless of title or gender. When I was an assistant with limited experience, I was invited to meetings with senior colleagues. I was always afforded the same level of respect and opportunity as my male counterparts, which has helped me grow in my career.”
Georgina Wilkinson, Regional Development Director at Mulberry Homes said: “We are extremely proud of Natasha’s continued development through her time at Mulberry Homes.
“She is a great member of the team, and I echo her words and want to encourage any women looking to make a move into the construction industry get involved in the industry.”
Prior to starting at Mulberry Homes, Natasha graduated from the University of Southampton with a degree in Philosophy and began her career in conveyancing, before moving into property development.
Outside of work, Natasha is an avid netball player and enjoys spending time with her dog.
