We’ve proudly donated £1000 to a Bedfordshire heritage trust

23rd November 2021

We have donated £1000 to Clophill Heritage Trust, helping the charity to fix the borehole water supply at their eco-friendly lodges.

Operating throughout Bedfordshire, Clophill Heritage Trust is a local charity which focuses on restoring, protecting and promoting local heritage.

In 2010, the Trust began restoration work on the ruins of the old St Mary’s Church in Clophill, and have now transformed it into a picnic spot which is often used for events and weddings, and offer tours of the restored tower.

The charity also run Clophill Eco Lodges, which is accommodation in the heart of Greensand Country. Alongside two staff members, the rest of the team is made up of volunteers. At the lodges, the Trust provides outdoor learning opportunities for children and young adults to benefit their education, including orienteering, archaeology sessions and geology walks through Clophill village.

Ali Bradbury, CEO of Clophill Heritage Trust, said: “Clophill Heritage Trust run the Eco Lodges which fund our charitable activities, including supporting young people to become independent as well as appreciate and love our heritage and the great outdoors.

“We are proud to continue to achieve a high level of sustainability and are extremely grateful to Mulberry Homes for supporting us with a generous donation towards our eco water supply system. Thank you, Mulberry Homes.”

Kerry Jones, Sales and Marketing Director at Mulberry Homes, said: “We’re delighted to have donated £1000 to Clophill Heritage Trust, helping them to fix their lodges’ environmentally-friendly water supply.

“Sustainability is very important to us, and we’re very proud to be contributing to this charity as they work hard to support and inspire young people across the county.

“Both Clophill Heritage Trust and us at Mulberry Homes are partnered with the Greensand Country Landscape Partnership, and we’re thrilled to be celebrating our 10th anniversary by supporting a charity whose values align so closely with our own.”

The donation comes as part of our 10-year anniversary campaign, in which we have committed to donating a total of £10,000 to charities and organisations local to our developments throughout 2021, with Clophill Heritage Trust operating nearby to our Maulden Ridge development in Maulden.
