10th October 2023

We have donated to a hospice at home charity based near our Manor Heath development in Leighton Buzzard.

Hospice at Home Volunteers was established in 1995 and offers a free, confidential service to families living with a terminal or life-limiting illness in the Leighton and Linslade area.

The charity aims to give those living with an illness all the support and friendship patients receive in a hospice setting in the comfort and privacy of their own home, and to give those caring for a loved one a much-needed break.

The donation comes as part of the housebuilder’s Quintessentially Community Focused programme, which sees us giving back to charities in the communities it operates in.

Our contribution will allow the charity to train more volunteers, meaning that they can provide their care to more people in the community who need it.

Sophie Gilleard, Promotions and Fundraising Co-Ordinator at Hospice at Homes Volunteers, said: “Hospice at Home Volunteers would like to say thank you to Mulberry Homes for this fantastic donation, we are so grateful to be picked and be able to use this towards making an impact on the local community.

“Donations like the one Mulberry Homes has provided us with are absolutely invaluable to our charity, we are a non-profit charity and rely totally on local donations to keep this fantastic service running. With the charity being so small and local it is so nice to know local businesses are able to reach out to help.”

Kerry Jones, Sales and Marketing Director at Mulberry Homes, said: “The service that Hospice at Homes Volunteers provides to those with a life-limiting illness is truly admirable, and at Mulberry Homes we are proud to have done our small part to help the charity bring people comfort and peace in such a difficult time.

“We hope that this donation serves its purpose in helping the charity provide more people with the service and we wish the charity best of luck in all their future endeavours.”

As part of Quintessentially Community Focused, charities and public organisations local to the housebuilder’s developments are invited to apply to receive a one-off donation of £1 to £1,000, which can be used to help enhance the local community or environment or provide a charitable service.
