Our donation helps to give a boost to a new school garden in Leighton Buzzard

April 7

We are thrilled to have donated £250 to Heathwood Lower School in Leighton Buzzard, helping to provide the pupils with a thriving school garden.

Staff at Heathwood Lower School are currently working to build a new school garden, where they are constructing raised seed beds for the children to grow fruit and vegetables, which will then be used in the school kitchen.

Once completed, the garden will also consist of a wildflower conservation area to attract bees and other local wildlife.

Our £250 donation purchased plants and wildflower seed bombs, which are small balls consisting of clay, soil and wildflower seeds.

The contribution follows our donation of bag tags to the school last November, helping to keep the schoolchildren safe as they walk to and from school.

Mrs Jackie Wright, Acting Headteacher at Heathwood Lower School, said: “This is an important development on the school site. The children are enjoying all the preparation and are excited to see the fruits of their labour!”

Keelan Riley, Sales Consultant at Mulberry Homes, said: “It was lovely to handover the cheque to Heathwood Lower School, and hear more about how the donation is helping them to create their very-own garden.”

Kerry Jones, Sales and Marketing Director at Mulberry Homes, said: “We couldn’t be happier to be supporting Heathwood Lower School as they create their garden and provide the children with a wonderful conservation area for them to enjoy and learn from.

“At Mulberry Homes, protecting local wildlife and nature is one of our core values, and we’re delighted to be assisting the local community in their own endeavours to boost Leighton Buzzard’s ecology.”
