We have donated 4000 bricks to Rugby College

Recently, we have made a donation of 4,000 bricks to Rugby College, near our upcoming Mulberry Homes at Houlton development and head office.

Rugby College is one of the six colleges that makes up award-winning college group WCG (formerly Warwickshire College Group), which is one of the largest further and higher education college groups in the UK.

Each college is distinct, and Rugby College in particular is renowned for its specialist facilities for engineering, construction, hair and beauty, and performing arts. The 4,000 bricks will be used by students so that they can practice their brick laying skills.

The donation is the first step in what will be an ongoing relationship between Rugby College and Mulberry Homes, as later in the year the housebuilder will be partnering with the college to offer apprenticeships and industry experience to students.

Anthony Rouse, Head of Department for Construction Trades at WCG, said: “We would like to thank Mulberry Homes for this fantastic donation of high-quality materials for our brickwork learners.
“The bricks will be used in the training of our Level 1 students, Level 2 students and apprentices when they return to the college for the new academic year in September.
“With the costs of building materials continuing to rise, this is a great help for us and will support us in developing the next generation of skilled construction professionals.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to build and expand the college’s relationship with Mulberry Homes and are already speaking with them about supporting with placements for T-Level qualifications.”

Chris Russell, Construction Director at Mulberry Homes, said: “We are delighted to be making this donation to Rugby College, and are happy to hear that the students will be able to use them to gain valuable experience which will help them in their future careers.

“Giving back to the communities in which we build is something that is very important to us at Mulberry Homes, and something we will continue to do in all our future ventures”.
