We’ve funded vital services with donation to Macmillan in Leicestershire and Rutland

We have proudly donated £1000 to the Leicestershire and Rutland branch of Macmillan Cancer Support, which will be used to fund vital Macmillan services in the region.

For over 100 years, Macmillan have been supporting people with cancer by helping them to get the support they need to take care of their health, protect their families, and deal with money and work worries. Macmillan provide physical, financial and emotional support to patients and their loved ones right from diagnosis, all the way through treatment and beyond.

The £1000 donation is being used to fund general Macmillan grants in the area, which pay for Macmillan services and health professionals, such as nurses and benefits advisors.

To further support the charity, we took part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 24th September. In an effort to fundraise more money, we decorated our head office and marketing suites at selected developments with Macmillan bunting and balloons, and had cakes, coffee and treats for staff, customers and visitors to enjoy.

Francesca Pearson, Macmillan Fundraising Manager for Leicestershire and Rutland, said: “We are so thankful for the generous donation made by Mulberry Homes. The money will be used to fund vital cancer support services and Macmillan professionals specifically in Leicestershire such as welfare benefits advisors, clinical nurse specialists and palliative care workers. Every single penny makes a huge difference and helps us do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer who need us now more than ever.”

Kerry Jones, Sales and Marketing Director at Mulberry Homes, said: “I’m thrilled that we’re able to donate £1000 to Macmillan in Leicestershire and Rutland. We’re very proud to be supporting their wonderful healthcare professionals and invaluable services, helping Macmillan to reach and care for more patients in the county at a time where it is more valued than ever.

“We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning with them on the 24th, and are delighted that we raised more money for this incredible charity.”

The donation comes as part of our 10-year anniversary campaign, in which we have committed to donating a total of £10,000 to charities and organisations local to our developments throughout 2021, with Macmillan in Leicestershire and Rutland operating nearby to our The Mulberries development in Lutterworth.
