We are thrilled to have donated £200 to our resident Steven Upton, who is taking part in the #GreatNorthRun this weekend to fundraise for Save the Children UK.

Taking place on Sunday 12th September, the Great North Run is known as the World’s biggest half marathon, and this year is starting and finishing in #NewcastleCityCentre.

This is Steven’s fourth time participating in the event, and he’s aiming to complete his run in under one hour and 25 minutes. Steven said: “The Great North Run is one of my favourite running events. Training has been full on, it’s fun yet hard at the same time! I do a lot of training with my partner Michelle and our three-year-old son Oliver.

“I decided to fundraise for Save the Children because it says exactly what I think everyone should put first – the children. “I am hoping to raise as much as possible until my race day, and thanks to Mulberry Homes and other donors I’ve already raised more than my initial target!

I would like to say a big thank you to Mulberry Homes for their amazing donation, I will be giving the Great North Run my best efforts.”

Mulberry Homes, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Steven as he prepares to take part in the Great North Run. Save the Children is a wonderful charity providing essential aid to children in the UK and around the world. “Charity is something very close to our hearts at Mulberry and we’re very proud to be making contributions wherever we can. I wish Steven the best of luck for Sunday!”
