We’re delighted to have donated £1000 to Happy Days Children’s Charity, nearby to our Brunswick Gate development in Lower Stondon, to aid its work supporting vulnerable children during the pandemic.
Based in Hitchin, Happy Days works with local communities to provide vital breaks, holidays and residential trips for children aged three to 17-years-old with additional needs, including learning difficulties, physical or mental disabilities and life limiting illnesses, and children who have been abused, bereaved or act as carers.
The money will be used to fund a special theatre day for a local special educational needs school in Stevenage, which supports physically and neurologically impaired children aged from three to 18-years-old, including pupils with a sensory loss, medical condition or associated difficulty in learning.
The theatre day will include a performance of The Secret Garden for the children to enjoy once lockdown restrictions allow. Happy Days has prepared an alternative version of the performance which will involve fewer actors and employ extra screens and sound, in keeping with social distancing and limiting the number of visitors going into the school.

The donation comes as part of our 10-year anniversary campaign, in which we’re committed to donating a total of £10,000 to charities and organisations local to our developments throughout 2021.
